Charcoal ovens have been used by professional chefs for decades because (aside from the delicious, smoky flavour they infuse into everything you cook) they can reach far higher temperatures than a domestic oven. 

With Charlie, you can set and hold the temperature steady - for hours - anywhere between 100°C and 400°C, which means it is perfect for making pizzas, BBQing, grilling, roasting, hot or cold smoking, baking bread, or simply going low ‘n slow.

If you love food and love cooking (and maybe have lots of friends), you’ll love Charlie’s nine cooking heights (where each rack holds a full-sized catering oven tray). Meaning cooking with both direct heat (close to the charcoal) for that seared steak moment or with indirect heat (further up the oven) for chargrilled veggies - all at once.

Charlie can be used to sear food, cooking directly above the charcoal. But, unlike a BBQ, you cook with the door shut. Aroma, smokiness and flavour sealed in. No flipping, turning, prodding. No face full of smoke. Just evenly-cooked perfection.

It's a pizza oven.

Charlie can cook up to four pizzeria-quality pizzas at the same time, in just three to four minutes. (Don't even think about trying that in your regular pizza oven!) Put in your pizza stones, get the oven up to about 375°C, pop in your pizzas, shut the door. Foolproof, every single time.

 

It's an oven.

Charlie has 2.5 times the capacity of a regular oven. So you can cook a whole meal, with every element, at the same time. All with the magic of charcoal-cooked flavour. It adds that extra je-ne-sais-quoi to everything you cook. Easy.

 

It's a hot and cold smoker.

Smoke a leg of lamb or shoulder of beef at 100°C for six hours. Or put in a cold smoking ring and smoke a whole shoal of salmon overnight.  Charlie so incredibly well insulated, that it will stay as cool as you need for hours on end.

 

It's a bread oven.

Charlie can get a lot hotter than a regular oven, with very precise temperature control. So you can cook the types of bread that - unless you've got the right kit - only bakers can do. Crispy crust, with a tiny hint of smokiness, with a succulent, fluffy interior. 

Charlie is utterly effortless.

Cooking with Charlie really is easy as pie. It's totally different to using a BBQ.  No prodding, no flipping, no half-burnt, half-raw sausages or a face-full of smoke. Simply pop the food in, shut the door - and leave Charlie to work its magic, giving you more time to spend with family and friends.

Charlie is hands-off cooking.

It’s a simple, low maintenance piece of kit to use. Build a small pyramid of charcoal over a couple of natural firelighters. Light the firelighters, open the vents, shut the door… and leave it! Charlie will be up to temperature in around 20 minutes. 

All the cooking ash falls through, into the ash drawer. Once cool, pull out and empty. The racks are easy to clean with a wire brush and - just like your car - the exterior can be cleaned with a sponge and soapy water.
