Consistent with the first property of the collection, Lefay Resort & Spa on Lake Garda, the Dolomiti resort has been designed and built with respect for the environment thanks to a careful architectural integration into the surrounding countryside and installation of latest-generation technologies that reduce energy and water consumption, as well as the use of renewable green energy.
Lefay Dolomiti’s structure is a contemporary interpretation of traditional architectural styles, designed to blend into the landscape, and harness passive solar energy throughout the day. State-of-the-art technologies allow the resort to produce electrical energy, heating and cooling, through its own biomass plant, cogeneration plant and free cooling system. Management software has been implemented to reduce energy and water consumption, together with a careful environmental policy towards waste disposal and Guests' awareness.
In alignment with the Lefay Total Green project, the Resort totally offsets its emissions in conformity with the provisions of the Kyoto Protocol. SUSTAINABILITY CERTIFICATIONS
VOLUNTARY AGREEMENT WITH THE ITALIAN MINISTRY OF THE ENVIRONMENT
On December 20th, 2011 Lefay Resorts signed a voluntary agreement with the Italian Ministry of the Environment, the Land and the Sea, for the promotion of joint projects aimed at the analysis and neutralization of the climate impact of its activities, in all Resorts of the Collection.
LEFAY TOTAL GREEN
Following the voluntary agreement with the Italian Ministry of Environment, in 2014 Lefay Resorts has chosen to compensate 100% of its CO2 emissions every year by purchasing CERs credits, certified and recognized to be in compliance with the Kyoto Protocol related to specific projects fulfilled in Europe and in the rest of the world, aimed at the reduction of CO2 emissions. Also Lefay Guests join in on this journey, as a percentage of the bill for their stay is used to buy CERs credits.
