The most popular vintage home decor revealed!
Vintage fashion is all the rage right now, with influencers making their mark by showing off-their throwback styles, and new vintage clothing sites popping up constantly.
But vintage home styles are close behind. Homedit.com wanted to find out which vintage items shoppers want in their homes the most. To do so, they took to Etsy to discover which homeware items had the most “vintage” listings.

Of all the items in the home décor category, wall hangings have the most vintage listings with a whopping 470,308 items for sale. The most expensive wall hanging is a rare oil on canvas painting of Jesus Christ on sale for £42,230.21.
The second most popular home decor item is vintage vases, of which there are 93,903 listings. The most expensive vintage vase on sale is a 12-inch-tall Chinese vase from the 18th century in yellow, priced at £38,328.35.
Decorative cushions come third with 79,153 product listings under the ‘vintage’ filter. The most expensive single listing gets its £5,982.84 price tag by being made of 18th century cotton striped silk taffeta.

The most popular vintage furniture item on Etsy is drawer pulls and knobs with 9,298 listings. The most expensive listing of the bunch was £4,247.14 which was for a pair of bronze handles from 1750.
Next, with almost 2,000 fewer listings, are coffee and end tables with 7,309 total listings. The most expensive of the listings is £23,268.40 for a 1930’s Louis Vuitton trunk, which had been refashioned into an end table.
The category with the third highest number of listings are chairs and ottomans with 6,826 listings. The most expensive listing in this category is a £20,743.15 Afra & Tobia Scarpa "Africa" dining set from 1975.
The Most Listed Vintage Items in Other Categories
- The most listed item in kitchenware was drinks and barware with 254,842 listings.
- The most listed item in storage and organization was jewellery boxes with 30,504 listings.
- The most listed item in lighting was lamps with 32,148 listings.
Methodology
- Homedit.com set out to discover which vintage homeware items are the most sought after.
- To find out, the e-commerce site Etsy was utilized as it specialises in handmade and vintage listings.
- The Home & Living section was selected to narrow down to search to show relevant results.
- Then under the “Item Type” menu “Vintage” was selected. The “Shop Location” menu was set to “anywhere”.
- Homedit.com then trawled through each subcategory in the Home and Living section until they found the most granular selection e.g.: Home and Living > Home Décor > Wall Décor > Wall Hangings.
- For each selection the number of results was recorded as was the cost of the highest and lowest priced item.
- The items were then ranked by number of listings.
