Korodur industrial flooring forms the basis for new Zalando logistics center in Poland
Around 500 t of NEODUR HE 3 for 130,000 square meters of storage space
High resistance to abrasion and wear and tear is one of the essential requirements for industrial floors in logistics. For the construction of its new logistics center in Bydgoszcz, Poland, in 2022, the online fashion retailer Zalando relied entirely on NEODUR HE 3 from the German manufacturer Korodur.
NEODUR HE 3 is a ready-to-use, cement-bound dry building material for the production of industrial floors using the scatter method, which is used worldwide in indoor and outdoor areas. It was designed to improve surface hardness and increase wear resistance under direct industrial floor stress. In addition to logistics, including high-bay warehouses, parking garages, industrial, assembly and aircraft hangars and workshops are typical locations.
High value for the supply chain and the regional economy
The industrial flooring installer PPP, based near Kraków, is already very familiar with the Korodur products from many joint projects and installed around 500 t of NEODUR HE 3 in the color cement gray on a 130,000 sqm storage area at the Zalando location in Bydgoszcz.
The new location is of great importance for the delivery of Zalando customers in Poland and for the regional economy, especially since around 3,500 new jobs are to be created there in the long term.
Sustainability: Anything but a fad for Zalando
For Europe's leading platform for fashion and lifestyle products, sustainability is anything but a fad. Efficient thermal protection of the buildings, the collection and recycling of rainwater and the promotion of electromobility were therefore essential components of the planning. The property meets the requirements for the rating "Excellent" of the BREEAM certification system for assessing sustainability.
Thanks to its particularly long service life and the resulting long life cycles in use, NEODUR HE 3 is designed to conserve resources. With a revised recipe, Korodur has now developed the product into the NEODUR HE 3 green variant, the production of which saves up to 30% energy.
