Oman to develop $155mn tourism project in Muscat
Construction on Yenkit Hills project to start next year, with completion scheduled for 2026
Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has signed an agreement with Qurm Stone Development for the development of a $155 million tourism project in Muscat, it has been announced.
According to a report by the Oman Observer, the Yenkit Hills tourism project is to be set up over a 500,000sqm area in Muscat governorate and will be implemented in three phases.
Phase One will see the development of a five-star resort with 90 rooms and suites, complete with all facilities. Phase Two will involve the construction of 122 upscale residential tourist units, as well as a panoramic commercial complex to serve the area and the project, the report added.
The third and final phase of the project will see the construction of a 150-room five-star hotel, in addition to 50 five-star hotel apartments, complete with facilities.
Once complete, the project will highlight the tourism potential of the Yenkit area, particularly its scenic views that overlook the Sea of Oman and the Al Khairan area in Muscat Governorate.
Work on the project is expected to begin in 2022, with overall completion planned for 2026.
